As the mastermind behind the “Sir Perky” and “Mrs Perky” brand, I always had a knack for seeing the lighter, more playful side of life.
It all began with a simple observation: life is too short for boring kitchen and home gadgets. Why settle for mundane when you could have a splash of risqué fun?
One evening, while enjoying a glass of wine it struck me: wine stoppers and household accessories were unbelievably dull. They did their job, sure, but where was the fun, the cheekiness? That’s when the idea for the Sir Perky brand came to life. It couldn’t be just any wine stopper but one with a naughty twist, sure to raise eyebrows and provoke laughter.
Sketching out over 14 versions that made it to market was a hoot. I wanted him to be more than just a novelty item; I wanted him to embody a sense of playfulness and mischief.
With his exaggerated features and suggestively humorous pose Sir Perky was designed to be a conversation starter, a nudge-nudge-wink-wink addition to any wine bottle, and a “what did I just see” product.
